“Once upon a time, there may have been a valiant young knight; now all there is is a car salesman in a rundown showroom, wearing odd socks and feeling older than his years. If there are grails and beautiful princesses still, they’re worlds away. It’s a wet Monday in June and, from his desk by the window, there’s little to be seen except umbrellas and traffic jams, scurrying pedestrians, and backpackers standing around in the rain to wonder if this can really be the Ireland they’ve heard so much about.”
